🌿 Grade 6 – Science Lab Activity
🔬 Exploring Leaf Venation Patterns 🌿
As part of experiential learning, students of Grade 6 participated in a Science Lab Activity focused on observing and identifying different types of leaf venation.
🍃 Activity Highlights:
- Students collected various leaves from the school garden and surrounding areas.
- They classified leaves based on venation patterns – reticulate venation (network-like) and parallel venation (side-by-side lines).
- Using magnifying glasses, they observed the midrib, veins, and veinlets, enhancing their observation and classification skills.
- The activity was followed by a worksheet where students matched leaves to their plants and types of venation.
🎯 Learning Outcomes:
- Understood the importance of leaf structure in plant identification
- Differentiated between monocot and dicot plants
- Applied scientific thinking through hands-on observation
The activity encouraged students to explore the diversity of plant life around them while fostering curiosity and environmental awareness.
